Property damaged after EF1 tornado hits Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes

Thankfully, nobody was reported injured or killed during the damage.

BAYOU BLUE, La. — On Tuesday night, at 10 p.m., an EF1 tornado touched down in Terrebonne and Lafourche Parishes.

Thankfully, nobody was reported injured or killed during the damage.

While most of South Louisiana avoid problems from Tuesday night's storms, people in Bayou Cane and Bayou Blue, which straddle the border between the two parishes most impacted by the storm, reported damage from around that time.

In Bayou Blue, part of Lafourche Parish, where winds were reported at 95 miles per hour, Troy Naquin said the tornado hit his house and motor home just as he was approaching finishing repairing the damage from Hurricane Ida in 2021.

"My Class-A motorhome was flipped over, part of my roof was pulled off the house, all my porch is destroyed - It's devastating," Naquin said. "The guy made up my gutters yesterday and was going to put them on Thursday, it was the last part that needed to be repaired on my house from the storm."

A storm report from the National Weather Service in New Orleans detailed damage in nearby Bayou Cane, part of Terrebonne Parish.

An apparently untied R.V. was flipped, a roof lifted off a house and a barn shifted, during the tornado touchdown, on Tuesday night.
