Nellie Greenhill

Ms. Nellie Greenhill, 95, of Dover, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Diversicare Nursing Home, Dover, Tennessee, with her loving family by her side.

She was born Tuesday, May 3, 1927, in Indian Mound, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Chesley and Hattie Gafford Keatts.

Ms. Nellie loved the Lord and was a faithful servant, a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star.

Ms. Nellie worked over 20 years in at Ely and Walker clothing factory. Her biggest joy in life was caring for her family, cooking big meals and having the family together in her home that make special memories for everyone. She found comfort and pleasure in sowing, quilting, and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, James Cullum Greenhill, brother, Bobby Keatts, and sister, Lela Ezell, grandson; Tim Barrow, great grandsons; Joshua and Dylan Barrow.

She leaves behind those that loved her dearly, daughters: Diane (Marshall) Barrow and Jane (Donne) Burkhart; son: James Marty Greenhill, nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro Paul Edwards officiating at Anglin Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Heflin Cemetery, Dover, Tennessee.

Those serving as pallbearers are James Watson, Brice Shupe, Brian Hewitt, Frank Hanna, Bart Greenhill, and Doug Ezell.

The family wishes to extend a special “Thank you” to the CNA, nurses, Kim, Starla and the entire staff at Diversicare of Dover for the love and care given to Ms. Nellie.
