MCSO identified the inmate suspected in the attack as Keon Ronnell Jackson.

Jackson is already facing multiple charges of capital murder, homicide, robbery and arson. Jackson also attempted to escape the Madison County Jail multiple times.

Authorities say Jackson shot and killed his brother-in-law Casey Moore in 2017. Jackson allegedly took Moore’s wallet before setting fire to the house and stealing his vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office told News 19 that they expect more charges to be filed against Jackson.
