Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is taking a look back at a disagreement he had with Joe Rogan that may have kept off The Joe Rogan Experience.
Longtime fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has been involved in some of the best fights in the history of MMA. He spent years fighting in some of the top MMA organizations in the world and has made many friends along the way. Now with the bulk of his fighting career behind him, Jackson is spending more time in front of a microphone than inside a cage. He can often be seen on a number of podcasts, discussing all topics in the sport and beyond.
Now Jackson is addressing the reason he believes that has kept him from being a guest on the biggest MMA podcast in the world, The Joe Rogan MMA show.

Joe Rogan’s podcast has become one of the most influential shows in the world. He speaks on an array of topics ranging from health and fitness to MMA and beyond. More recently he has begun a break-off show called Joe Rogan MMA Show in which he invites his fighter friends on to discuss the sport. Jackson has never been invited on and he believes that a spat between himself and Rogan is the reason why. He spoke about this on the No Jumper YouTube channel.
“We had one thing, Joe and I, we’ve always been cool, right? But then, after a couple of fights in the UFC, he noticed that I wasn’t checking leg kicks and that I wasn’t throwing a lot of leg kicks. He got real forceful about it and with social media I had a lot of MMA fans talk about man, you don’t know how to kick, you don’t know how to check leg kicks and I was like, man, it just got annoying,” he said. “So I stepped to Joe like Joe, man, why are you saying all this sh-t about me not knowing how to check leg kicks…we had like a few words and stuff and I did say something kind of bad, I got tired of people constantly talking sh-t about me so I tell them, watch the UFC and turn the volume down.”
Jackson went on to explain his take on the commentators at events and how he feels they can control the narrative of the bout.
“I said you’ll get a different, it’d be a different fight because of color commentators,” he said. “You know how that started off? With radio, you know, they would paint the picture of the fight for you. So Joe can, he can be kind of biased sometimes, you know, against like jiu-jitsu, guys he loves jiu-jitsu guys and sometimes I watched the fight I turn it down a little bit then I get a different view of the fight.”
Jackson has not fought in MMA since his last bout with Bellator MMA. His last fight against Fedor Emelianenko was back in December of 2019. He has been involved in talks for other combat sports opportunities but none have panned out at this time. Jackson is now 44 years old.
