The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) recently got a visit from a familiar face.

On Tuesday, Officer Shay Mikalonis paid a visit to LVMPD officers with the Convention Center Area Command during a recent briefing, where he got the chance to hang out with his fellow law enforcement brothers and sisters.
Officer Mikalonis was critically injured in 2020 following an encounter with protesters near Circus Circus, where shots rang out. The shooting left the officer paralyzed from the neck down.

The man who struck Mikalonis, Edgar Samaniego, was sentenced to 20 to 50 years in prison in 2022.
