Oscar hopeful Paul Mescal is returning to the stage this spring in A Streetcar Named Desire — and it's been confirmed that its West End run will be extended for another week.
The sold-out production of Tennessee Williams' classic play, which also stars Patsy Ferran, Anjana Vasan and Dwane Walcott, is heading over to London's Phoenix Theatre for a six-week run — starting from Monday, March 20 — following its acclaimed run at the Almeida Theatre.
The show will now end its run on May 6, 2023. Tickets for the new dates, along with "new seats for all other performances", will go on sale via outlets including ATG and LOVEtheatre from 11am on Monday, March 13.

Mescal, who got his break along with Daisy Edgar-Jones thanks to Normal People, reprises his role as Stanley. Ferran, Vasan and Walcott return as Blanche, Stella and Mitch.
The full cast has also been confirmed, with a number of performers returning from the Almeida Theatre run. They are Eduardo Ackerman, Gabriela García, Francesca Knight, Tom Penn and Jabez Sykes.
They'll be joined by Rob Dempsey, Alexander Eliot, Cash Holland, Zach Parkin and Constanza Ruff.
"On a street in New Orleans, in the blistering summer heat, a sister spirals," reads a synopsis for the play.
"When Blanche unexpectedly visits her estranged sister Stella, she brings with her a past that will threaten their future.
"As Stella's husband Stanley stalks closer to the truth, Blanche's fragile world begins to fracture. Reality and illusion collide and a violent conflict changes their lives forever."
On news of the play's transfer, Mescal said: "I'm incredibly excited that Streetcar is being transferred to the West End with this formidable cast and creative team, led by the exceptionally talented Rebecca Frecknall.
"It's my favourite play and it's wonderful to be able to share it with a wider audience."

This revival of Streetcar premieres exactly one week after Mescal's visit to the Oscars in Los Angeles.
He's nominated for his performance in Aftersun (just his second feature film) and competes in the Best Actor category against Colin Farrell (for The Banshees of Inisherin) and Austin Butler (Elvis), amongst others.
"This is truly a special moment for everyone involved in Aftersun. To be recognised by the Academy is such an insane honour and I'm so utterly grateful," Mescal said after this year's nominations were announced.
"I want to dedicate this nomination to my two friends Charlotte [Wells] and Frankie [Corio] who I love dearly! This is bananas, thank you!"
