HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) - DNA now confirms a body found in a van in Mexico Friday is that of missing Hamilton architect Jose Gutierrez.

Gutierrez flew to Mexico last month to visit his fiancee and her family.

Guitierrez, his fiancée, Daniela Pichardo, and her sisters disappeared Christmas night, according to his sister.

The body of Gutierrez, his fiancee, the sister, and a cousin were all found near a van that had crashed and had clearly been the target of gunfire. The van matched the description of the one the four had been using.

According to a Gofundme, the family is now working to bring him back to be laid to rest.

The part of Mexico they were in is known for violent gang activity.
