M3GAN has been a viral and box-office sensation, but if you still haven't met the murderous android, you can now invite her into your home if you're in the US.

The horror movie centres on roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams), who invents a life-like doll called M3GAN, programmed to be a child's best friend. When Gemma becomes caretaker of her orphaned niece, she sees the perfect opportunity to test her creation out.

However, Gemma is unaware that her decision will have unimaginable consequences — both for herself and the people around her. M3GAN might look innocent, but she takes her job as a child's protector very seriously.

While M3GAN is still only available to watch exclusively in cinemas in the UK, you can rent the horror movie if you're in the US. It's available from $19.99 from Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu, and other participating digital retailers.

As mentioned above, M3GAN isn't yet available to rent at home in the UK. Generally, Universal releases have been made available to rent from around one month after their theatrical release.

If the horror movie follows that schedule, then we can expect to be able to watch M3GAN at home in the UK around February 13. Here's hoping it can be a twisted Valentine's Day watch if that estimation turns out to be accurate.

M3GAN has proved such a hit at the box office that a sequel, M3GAN 2.0, has already been confirmed for a January 2025 release. It will bring back Allison Williams and Violet McGraw to reprise their roles as Gemma and Cady, respectively.

Talking to Digital Spy ahead of the movie's release, Williams explained how the viral reaction to the M3GAN trailer confirmed that they were onto a winner.

"The minute the trailer came out and we started seeing the memes on social media, we were like, 'Oh, they get her, like, we did it'. They understand who she is, and they are running with it," she noted.

M3GAN is out now in UK cinemas and is available to rent at home in the US through Prime Video, iTunes, Vudu and more.
