BROOKLYN, Ohio

Inducing panic: Cascade Crossing

On Jan. 5, a Sheetz employee called police about an unruly customer at the Cascade Crossing gas station.

An arriving officer learned that a man was upset because he couldn’t find his cell phone. That’s when he brandished a gun and started making threats.

The Cleveland suspect was arrested for inducing panic.

Lost cell phone: Biddulph Road

On Jan. 5, police were dispatched to Giant Eagle after a Cleveland shopper discovered that she was missing her cell phone. The store didn’t find the phone. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Shoplifting: Brookpark Road

On Jan. 5, a Walmart employee observed a customer stealing merchandise from the Brookpark Road store.

An arriving officer talked to the loss prevention specialist, who had detained the shoplifter. The Garfield Heights woman was arrested for theft.

Property damage: Ridge Road

On Jan. 9, a Ridge Road resident called police after discovering that his back door had been damaged. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Criminal mischief: American Road

On Jan. 5, an employee at an American Road business called police after discovering that someone had rummaged through their vehicle, which was parked in the Medical Mutual parking lot. Nothing was missing from the car. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Harassing communication: Biddulph Road

On Jan. 4, police were dispatched to Brooklyn Pub & Grill regarding a harassing communication call.

An arriving officer talked to the owner, who said the business had been receiving harassing phone calls. There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Car theft: Memphis Avenue

On Jan. 4, police were dispatched to Amazon regarding a car break-in.

An arriving officer talked to the caller, who said a gray 2019 Kia Forte had been stolen from the parking lot. The Kia was found in Cleveland, where it was later returned to the owner.
