The Kansas City area woke up Wednesday morning to a thick, wet blanket of snow. A number of school districts announced closures or digital-learning days, and wrecks were reported on area roadways. According to the National Weather Service, most of the area saw between one to three inches of snow.Higher amounts were observed in parts of southern and southeastern Missouri. Horner said temperatures will continue to drop throughout the day Wednesday, and conditions will be frigid to start Thursday. While we'll see a brief warm-up Friday, we're looking ahead to bitter-cold temperatures expected for the Kansas City Chiefs AFC Championship match against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
