Paris Hilton Announces the Birth of Her First Child

Congratulations, Paris Hilton! On Tuesday, the socialite, DJ, and model shared the news that she had welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with her husband Carter Reum. Hilton made the announcement via Instagram with an image of the newborn’s hand holding her own, accompanied by a heartfelt caption that read, simply: “You are already loved beyond words.” (Naturally, the comments section was flooded with well-wishes from the likes of Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Elle Fanning, Chrissy Teigen, and Demi Lovato.)

The news comes just over a year after Hilton tied the knot with Reum, an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, in a lavish Bel-Air wedding for which the bride wore custom Oscar de la Renta. “Carter and I have been friends for over 15 years,” Hilton told Vogue at the time. “We stayed in each other’s lives over time, and we reconnected at a Thanksgiving get-together in 2019. From that night, I felt the spark, and the rest is history.” After a whirlwind engagement on a private island in February of 2021, the couple married eight months later. 

Hilton had previously shared her plans to have her first child via surrogate, having begun the IVF process in the months before the COVID-19 pandemic began. In a podcast interview with journalist Mara Schiavocampo in 2021, Hilton noted that she had been introduced to her fertility specialist, Dr. Andy Huang, by none other than Kardashian herself, and that she and Reum had already begun the process of picking out baby names. 

“Throughout the years, I was always searching for my partner,” Hilton told Vogue on the day after her 2021 wedding. “Not only someone to share my dreams with but a man to build a future together. I was looking for my equal. Someone who wasn’t fascinated with ‘Paris Hilton’ but instead, someone who saw the real me and loved me for me. Someone who is loving and kind. Someone to be a father to my future children. I’m so proud of my love story with Carter, and even more excited that it’s just beginning.” With the birth of their first child, a new chapter in Hilton and Reum’s love story has begun.
