Star Wars' Daisy Ridley has confirmed that she is teaming up with her now-confirmed husband for her next movie Magpie.

While the film itself and the two stars' involvement were announced last year, Ridley – who plays the main character – has revealed that she is now married to Tom Bateman, who is writing the script and serving as a producer alongside Ridley.

"I had the idea of [it], and my husband has written [it], and I'm starring in [it] of course," she told AP. "And we have an amazing cast and an amazing crew, and it's very exciting. Yes, so we will be shooting for a month, fast."

Comparing it to her new movie Sometimes I Think About Dying, Ridley explained: "This was also really a good experience in how to achieve so much with very limited money and very limited time, when you're thoughtful and everyone clubs together, and it's very intentional."

"Magpie is that, so it's very exciting," she added, stressing that it is a "totally different thing" as she explained the plot: "I play a woman who is sort of pushed very much beyond her limits.

"Her daughter's cast in a movie, and that father starts chaperoning the daughter to the film set, and he falls in love with the actress that's playing the mother.

"And it's about perspective, and about fantasy versus reality, and there's a delicious twist, and it’s a thriller."

Magpie is also set to star Star Trek: Discovery's Shazad Latif, with Sam Yates directing the movie.

Meanwhile, following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last week, Sometimes I Think About Dying has received rave reviews from some critics.

The movie sees Ridley play a woman called Fran, who is constantly thinking about dying, though her fascination with mortality is challenged when she develops a connection with a colleague called Robert (Dave Merheje).
