A pedestrian is dead after a fatal crash in the northeast valley, police say.
On Tuesday at 6:47 p.m., the Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) reported to a crash near Nellis and North Las Vegas Blvd.
Investigators said a 2020 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard approaching the intersection with Nellis when a pedestrian crossed over Las Vegas Boulevard in a marked crosswalk.
Police said the pedestrian failed to obey the “walk, don’t walk sign” and entered the path of travel of the Nissan. The collision occurred when the front of the Nissan struck the right side of the pedestrian, projecting him forward and coming to rest in the roadway.
