The Memphis Grizzlies' road trip hasn't been pleasant. Now it gets worse with center Steven Adams out for an extended period of time.

The Grizzlies announced Tuesday that Adams is expected to miss 3-5 weeks due to a PCL sprain in his right knee. The injury was suffered on the last play of Sunday's 112-110 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Adams didn't play Monday against the Sacramento Kings due to knee soreness but was seen limping as he left the locker room following the Grizzlies' 133-100 loss.

It's another blow for the Grizzlies, who are in second place in the Western Conference but in the midst of a three-game losing streak entering their game Wednesday against the Golden State Warriors.

Xavier Tillman Sr. started Monday and could likely see a larger role. The Grizzlies will also rely more on Jaren Jackson Jr., who's averaging a career-best 6.6 rebounds this season, as well as Brandon Clarke off the bench.

According to Spotrac, the Grizzlies are fifth in the NBA with players missing a combined 151 games because of injuries. Both Desmond Bane and Jackson have missed extended time this season.

Now they'll be without Adams, who leads the NBA in offensive rebounds per game (6.5) and is fourth in total rebounds per game (11.5). The Grizzlies also lead the NBA in rebounds and points in the paint due to Adams' impact.

Adams averages just 8.6 points but his impact on scoring is much greater. When he's on the court, the Grizzlies have an offensive rating of 118.7 points per 100 possessions, which would lead the league. When he's off, that rating falls to 107.8, lower than the last-place Houston Rockets (109.2).
