Peugeot started 2023 on a high note with the unveiling of the Inception concept at CES.  Now, they’ve announced plans to hold an “E-Lion Day” on January 26th.

The automaker is keeping details under wraps, but promised to “present its electric vision for the future of the brand.”  The company went on to say we can expect “big announcements” that appear to involve both electric and electrified vehicles.

We’ll learn more on Thursday, but Peugeot already offers an assortment of EVs including the e-208, e-2008, e-Rifter, and e-Traveller.  Customers can also get plug-in hybrid versions of the 308, 408, and 508.

While it remains unclear what the company has up its sleeve, spy photographers caught the redesigned 3008 in December.  It’s expected to be offered with an assortment of different powertrains including plug-in hybrid and electric options.

Longer term, Peugeot CEO Linda Jackson recently said the company is planning to launch five new EVs as part of their effort to become the “leading electric brand in Europe by 2030.”

Getting back to the teaser, it mentioned “allure.” That’s an apparent reference to the Inception concept, which was billed as a “design manifesto” that previews the brand’s future styling direction.  Besides ushering in a new era of design, the concept rode on the STLA Large platform and featured a dual-motor powertrain as well as a 100 kWh battery pack that provided 497 miles (800 km) of range.
