A woman is in stable condition after being shot in the face in the Westwood area over the weekend.
Officials with the Lassen County Sheriff's Office said their deputies received a report of a shooting at a home on Third Avenue just before midnight on Saturday, Jan. 21. They said their deputies responded to the scene and found a women suffering a gunshot wound to her face. They said the bullet entered her left nostril and exited out the right side of her neck.
Deputies said they were only able to grab limited information from the woman before being treated by paramedics. The LCSO confirmed the victim was taken to Banner Lassen Hospital and later to Renown Medical Center for treatment and is currently in stable condition.
The LCSO says their deputies and detectives continue to investigate this incident. They're asking anyone who lives near the 100 block of Delwood Street, near Third Avenue and Fifth Avenue, if they have any video surveillance from the hours of 11:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Jan. 21.
