Emerge Conference Returns to Tennessee

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga welcomed over 700 new visitors as today marked the start of the Emerge Conference.

Hosted by the Religious Conference Management Association (RCMA), Emerge allows for attendants to immerse themselves in a new city while learning new skills and tactics for hosting successful events.

The RCMA is a non-denominational Christian organization started in 1972 that dedicates itself to improving the quality of faith-based meetings around the world.

The event is taking place January 24th until the 26th in Chattanooga.

The year of 2022 was their 50th anniversary, with this conference being the exclamation point to the celebration.

CEO & President of RCMA, Harry Schmidt shared his appreciation for what the conference can do for people of the faith. “Our byline with RCMA is ‘where faith meets.’ People who enjoy their faith experience get together. When we’re in an environment like this it gives them an opportunity to see how impactful people of the faith are, because there’s this free exchange of ideas,” Schmidt said.

This is only the second time that Emerge has been hosted in the state of Tennessee and local business owners are glad to see a spark of new customers.

Barry White, CEO of Chattanooga Tourism estimates that the total impact from this event will be $1.6 million in a two-day period.
