BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Power to the Plaquemine substation has been restored, according to a city spokesperson.
The entire city was left in the dark as the result of an outage that reportedly occurred when its major transmission line lost power. Since the outages occurred, Entergy had been working to restore power to the city.
The City of Plaquemine communications director said, “It will take the City electrical crew up to 30 minutes to get power back up throughout the entire city, but all customers should have power before 4 pm. If you do not have power by that time, please call 225-687-3725 before 5 pm, or 225-687-4796 after 5 p.m.”
Officials said additional conductor damage to transmission lines was found, which caused a delay in getting power back to the city.
