The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter has teamed up with Landon’s Greenhouse to host the Valentine’s Critter Carnival. The event will feature games, prizes, refreshments and much more.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Shelter Dog Lead Emi Whiting told listeners about the upcoming fundraiser for the shelter.

According to Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter Operations Manager Cindy Popp, the shelter took in 783 animals in 2022, including dogs, cats and smaller species.

Besides strays, many of the animals were surrendered. Popp and Whiting told listeners many residents have been forced to surrender their pets due to housing issues and economic hardship.

Funds raised from the Valentine’s Critter Carnival will go to purchase much needed medical and cleaning supplies, bedding, toys and other items to care for the animals.

The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter is continuing to supply those in need with dog and cat food to help pet owners retain ownership of their furry family members during times of hardship.
