EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders is set to air heartbreaking scenes this week as Lola Pearce will tell her daughter Lexi the horrific truth about her brain tumour.
Lexi is aware that Lola has a brain tumour but does not currently know that it is actually terminal.
In scenes set to air next week, the tragic news comes out after Lexi feigns being sick in order to skip school. Lexi is determined to stay with Lola every minute of every day until Lola is better from her illness.

Heartbroken, Lola decides to tell Lexi the truth. However, instead of crying or getting upset, Lexi reacts with anger and demands to be taken back to school. She is furious that Lola lied to her about the situation.
Later, Lola's mum Emma talks to Lexi in the playground and tries to comfort her granddaughter. Emma then heads to Fox & Hair and books an appointment with Lola specifically.

The storyline brings in Holby City star Patsy Kensit as Lola's long-lost mum, who arrives in Walford after hearing that her daughter has terminal cancer.
Danielle Harold recently said of her character Lola's relationship with her mother: "I think this is probably the first time that Lola has thought about the prospect of reconciling with her mum.
"I don't think Lola would normally want to look for her but because she is dying, Lola starts to reflect and thinks that it's her last chance to look for her... She also doesn't want her daughter to be left with the same unanswered questions she has."
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
