Buffalo Police announces arrests in seizure of guns, drugs in city

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Police Department announced Tuesday morning the arrest of a pair of men in relation to a search warrant executed this past Friday on the first block of Gorski Street.

In the search warrant conducted jointly by Buffalo Police Narcotics and Buffalo Police SWAT, authorities seized multiple weapons and ammunition, as well as drugs, cash and several scales.

Police recovered a substantial amount of drugs in the search, including 31 grams of meth, 26 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of various pills, 1 gram of fentanyl, ¼ ounce of crushed pills and 22 Xanax bars.

Among the weapons recovered at the scene were a loaded Polymer 80 “ghost gun,” a loaded Stevens 12-gauge shotgun, a sawed off Stevens 94F shotgun, and the frame of an incomplete Polymer 80 “ghost gun.”

32-year-old Anthony Ortiz of Buffalo was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class "C" felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor).

In addition, 33-year-old Jacob Laraiso of Buffalo was charged with the following:

- One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Class "B" felony)
- Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class "C" felony)
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree (Class "C" felony)
- Five counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor)
- One count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class "A" misdemeanor)
