Two Traffic Stops Result in Seizure of Fentanyl
DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — Dunlap police found narcotics in two separate traffic stops this weekend. The drivers in both incidents were arrested and are facing multiple charges, according to the Dunlap Police Department.
On Saturday, police stopped a Chevrolet Suburban and found nine fentanyl pills and powder. Police say the driver admitted the pills were fentanyl.
That individual is being charged with possession of schedule 2 (fentanyl), driving on a suspended license, no insurance and failure to signal, Dunlap police said.
On Sunday, officers stopped a Dodge Charger for traffic violations. Police say the driver was impaired and under the influence. When the driver got out of the car, police saw a glass smoking pipe with residue.
Police say they also found 43 fentanyl pills and more than $700.
The driver is being charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule 2 (fentanyl) for resale, implied consent law, no insurance and violation of the registration law.
The Dunlap Police Department says that a narcotics investigation is ongoing. Names of the suspects have not been released.
