

VICTORIA, Texas – A vehicle crash that took place on S.W. Moody Street Thursday has left one person dead and one in critical condition at a Texas hospital.
At approximately 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, Victoria Police Department officers responded to the 1900 block of S.W. Moody St. in reference to a major motor vehicle crash. When officers arrived, they discovered two vehicles with significant damage.
An investigation determined the silver Toyota Corolla, driven by 21-year-old Caitlyn Reyna, was traveling southbound on Moody Street when she crossed over into northbound traffic. The vehicle then collided head-on with a blue Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by 38-year-old Lanndon Smith.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries and were transported by Victoria Fire Department EMS to DeTar Hospital. Both were then life-flighted to Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, where Smith remains in critical condition. Reyna succumbed to her injuries Thursday evening at BAMC.
