Two-time Super Bowl champion believes Lamar Jackson has played last game with Ravens

Former defensive end Chris Long believes quarterback Lamar Jackson has played his final game in a Baltimore Ravens uniform following a saga-filled season that included a divisive injury and a lengthy, still unresolved, contract dispute. 

Appearing on "The Season" with Peter Schrager, Long said he thinks the bridge between the Ravens and Jackson has been "burning for a long time." Long cited quotes from Jackson's teammates following Baltimore's season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals as a big reason to believe the quarterback won't be back next season. 

"Isaiah Likely had a quote that was like 'Lamar will always be family,'" Long said. "Like, what does that mean?" 

After surmising that Likely's comments may have meant "goodbye," Long added that Jackson's teammates might already know that the Ravens are ready to move on. 

"You know how players know stuff, and the public out here, we think one thing, but in that building, it's so tight-knit," Long said. "It's not getting out that maybe the status quo is like, 'Hey, next year, we're going to have to figure it out,' because this bridge is burned."

Injured in Week 13, Jackson revealed before the Ravens' playoff opener that he suffered a Grade 2 PCL strain and was still dealing with inflammation around his still unstable knee. After Jackson failed to return for the Ravens' wild-card matchup, speculation began to grow as to whether or not the quarterback was too hurt to play or was sitting out over his contract. Ravens receiver Sammy Watkins seemed to direct criticism Jackson's way over the situation before clarifying his statements later. 

Still mired in a contract dispute, Jackson shared an ominous post on Instagram after Baltimore's wild-card loss to the Bengals, seemingly hinting that he and the Ravens remain far apart in negotiations. 

If the Ravens entertain trading Jackson, the 26-year-old will undoubtedly garner a healthy amount of attention from quarterback-needy teams. 

On top of believing Jackson's future in Baltimore is shaky at best, Long also doubled down on a comment he made ahead of the 2022 season when he speculated that Jackson could end up with the Miami Dolphins. 

On Wednesday, a report linked Jackson to two NFC South teams, the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers.
