Coral Springs Celebrates 60 Years of Community Spirit with Block Party-Style Concert Featuring ‘Wonderama’

By Sharon Aron Baron

The City of Coral Springs is gearing up to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a block party-style Community Celebration Concert on Saturday, February 11.

Coral Springs, which was incorporated in 1963, has a rich history. Originally known as “the country in the city,” it was developed as a master-planned community focused on parks, recreational areas, and quality of life.

Today, the city is known for its excellent schools, top-rated parks and recreational facilities, and a strong sense of community.

The celebration will feature a lineup of top-notch entertainment, including headliner Wonderama, a high-energy, current, top-40 band. Along with the music, eventgoers can indulge in various tasty treats from on-site food trucks and cocktail stations, browse local vendor booths, and participate in sports-themed activities and rock climbing.

City leadership will also be on hand to provide an update on the city’s progress, current projects, and future goals, as well as honor local volunteers who serve on boards, committees, and groups.

In addition to the entertainment and food, a limited-edition line of commemorative 60th-anniversary merchandise will be available for purchase on-site. Guests are encouraged to strike a pose with the city’s 60th-anniversary photo opp or under the city’s iconic sun sculpture while donning their new gear.

The event is free, but seating is limited, so guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Outside food and alcohol are prohibited, but free parking is available at the city hall parking garage.

The event, held in partnership with Broward Health, will take place on the Great Lawn of City Hall and is open to the public.
