VICTORIA, Texas – The City of Victoria’s police and fire departments will host its first monthly “Lunch and Learn” event of the year from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18.
The event will take place at the Victoria Community Center on the third Wednesday of each month. Community members will have the chance to meet with public safety specialists, ask questions and receive free health screenings.
VCS Companies will also be on site to give lessons on smartphone use for beginners. Community members can register for a health screening by visiting www.victoriatx.gov/lunchandlearn.
Victoria Fire Department members will provide basic vital sign checks, glucose assessments and heart screenings. They will also answer any basic health questions and distinguish between which incidents qualify for an emergency room, an urgent care visit or a doctor’s office visit.
