Pedestrian hit by trolley, killed in Lemon Grove
The incident occurred about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday in the area of San Miguel Avenue and Main Street
A woman was struck and killed by a trolley as she walked along the tracks in Lemon Grove early Wednesday, authorities said.
The incident occurred about 4:30 a.m. on the tracks that run between Main Street and Lemon Grove Avenue near San Miguel Avenue, sheriff’s officials said.
Investigators determined the woman had been walking along the tracks when she was struck by a northbound trolley, officials said.
She died before she could be taken to a hospital. As of Wednesday afternoon, the woman had not been identified.
Metropolitan Transit System operations were temporarily suspended while the crash was investigated.
