LOS ANGELES (KNX) - Nurse Ju Young Jung cares for the most critical patients at California Hospital Medical Center - Dignity Health in downtown Los Angeles, and she's known for doing it with a smile!

"JJ" was recently recognized by her peers for her kindness and work ethic, and in a conversation with KNX News reporter Heather Jordan, she opened up about what drives her to help others.

"I'm happy at work because I like what I do. I was born to be a nurse, I think."

Nurse "JJ" has a long history of hero behavior, serving as a missionary in Africa - providing medical care and education to locals in need. During her time there, she also learned to cut hair, a skill she uses to this day to boost the spirits of her patients.
