The upcoming winter transfer window could be eventful in Europe. Since the World Cup will add more fatigue for players, clubs will look to add more depth to the squad for a long second half of the season. Bayern Munich is expecting a quiet January transfer window, but reports continue to link the German club with forwards.

In the past few days, Spanish media outlets have reported that Bayern is one of the interested clubs in Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix. The Portuguese forward wants to leave the Spanish club after struggling to get consistent playing time under Diego Simeone.

However, Sport1 in Germany has confirmed that Bayern currently has no interest in signing the young forward. The German media outlet confirms that Die Roten tried to sign Felix in the summer, but Atletico Madrid refused to do business. Rekordmeister currently has no plans to sign Felix after signing Sadio Mane and Mathys Tel in the summer.

Felix would have been a good addition to Die Roten’s squad if they didn’t have Jamal Musiala to play behind the striker. The Portuguese international largely thrives as a number ten, so signing him now doesn’t make sense. Moreover, Atletico Madrid will look to recoup most of €120 million they paid for him in 2019. He will be an expensive luxury signing for Die Roten, which they currently don’t need.

Bayern already has an eye on the summer transfer deals instead of exploring the market during the winter window. The Bavarian club is expected to strengthen the attack by signing a number nine. Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly the top transfer target, while Marcus Thuram is considered an alternative target.

The only deal Die Roten could try to complete in January is to reach a pre-contract agreement with RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer. The Austrian midfielder reportedly has a verbal agreement to join Bayern in the summer on a free transfer. Rekordmeister can confirm this deal in January.

Meanwhile, Bouna Sarr could be on his way out from Bayern in the winter transfer window. The Senegalese defender has completed the recovery from a knee injury, so he can sort out a transfer in January. Die Roten is eager to part ways with him since he doesn’t feature in Julian Nagelsmann’s plans. Benjamin Pavard recently expressed his wish for a new project, but Bayern has no plans to listen to offers for him in January. The French defender may end up leaving in the summer.
