WITH BREAKING NEWS. THE BREAKING NEWS COME FROM WONKY, WHERE AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WAS EVACUATED THIS AFTERNOON AFTER A BOMB THREAT. IT HAPPENED AROUND 115 THIS AFTERNOON AT WAUKEE ELEMENTARY. AS SOON AS THE POLICE ARRIVED, STUDENTS AND STAFF WERE CLEARED OUT. THE STUDENTS WERE TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT BUILDING AND THEIR PARENTS WERE CONTACTED TO PICK THEM UP. MULTIPLE FIRST RESPONDERS, AGENCIES SHOWED UP AS WELL. BUT AFTER POLICE SEARCHED THE SCHOOL INSIDE AND OUT, THEY DIDN’T FIND ANY UNUSUAL OR SUSPICIOUS ITEMS. ONE MOTHER OF ONE TEACHER TELLS US HOW SHE FELT WHEN HER DAUGHTER SENT HER A TEXT DURING THE EVACUATION MISSION. I’M SCARED. I GOT A MESSAGE FROM MY DAUGHTER WHO IS A TEACHER HERE IN SPIRIT, SAID. THIS IS KARA. THIS IS NOT MY PHONE, BUT WE’RE SAFE. AND THEN I GET NO RESPONSE. SO I DROVE UP HERE AND IT’S SURROUNDED BY POLICE OFFICERS. Police investigated a bomb threat that was reported at Waukee Elementary School Friday.A police search of the building revealed no unusual or suspicious items.Police cleared the building. All students were loaded on buses and transported elsewhere before going home for the day.All parents with children at Waukee Elementary were sent an email with information informing them their child had been transported to another location.
