Welcome back to another day of NHL Predictions. Each day, Last Word on Hockey takes a look at the games that are happening and gives our predictions for each one, breaking down head-to-head and other factors that may play in. We also have a featured game of the day, which is considered must-watch TV. Today’s featured game is the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks.

NHL Predictions: San Jose Sharks vs Anaheim Ducks

Boston Bruins vs Arizona Coyotes

Head to Head: Bruins 1-0 Coyotes

The Boston Bruins are going to get the full Mullet Arena experience. They continue their road trip as they take on the Arizona Coyotes, whom they defeated in their home opener 6-3.

The Bruins keep on rolling. During this tough stretch of opponents, they’ve gone 5-1-1. Meanwhile, the desert dogs have a measly 18 points on the year and are coming off a brutal loss to the Oilers. The Bruins have been a powerhouse getting production from everywhere. One player who’s been on a heater is Taylor Hall (5 goals in his last four games).

Prediction: Bruins defeat Coyotes 5-1

Philadelphia Flyers vs Vegas Golden Knights

Head to Head: Flyers 0-0 Golden Knights

Another NHL predictions matchup features a juggernaut against an inferior opponent. The Vegas Golden Knights continue their homestand against the Philadelphia Flyers. Vegas is coming off a tough loss against the New York Rangers, whereas the Flyers lost a divisional game and saw Alexander Ovechkin get within 99 goals of Wayne Gretzky.

This game is lopsided from a scoring perspective. Vegas is one of the top-scoring teams in the league, whereas the Flyers are near the bottom. Goaltending is the brightest spot for the Flyers. Carter Hart is the backbone of that team, however, the tandem in Vegas is capable of winning regardless of who takes the crease. Vegas is a monster compared to Philly and gets back in the win column after an ugly defeat.

Prediction: Golden Knights defeat Flyers 5-2

San Jose Sharks vs Anaheim Ducks

Head to Head: Sharks 0-2 Ducks

Tonight’s NHL predictions featured matchup is a battle within the Pacific Division. Two of the worst teams in the division go head to head with the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks. Anaheim has won the first two meetings, in what was a high-scoring affair. The Ducks scored 11 goals combined in those first two meetings and now look to rock the pond.

Both teams are separated by four points. Despite the teams being at the bottom, there’s talent on both rosters worth watching. Anaheim is led by Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry. The newcomers, Ryan Strome and Frank Vatrano have also looked nice.

At this rate, San Jose is showcasing two players that could be dealt with by the deadline. Erik Karlsson is thriving on the blue line, whereas Timo Meier might be the most sought winger at the deadline. He is fourth in points and second in goals. The battle of California is on, and San Jose will get its first win against its rival.

Prediction: Sharks defeat Ducks 4-3
