Man shot to death in hallway of Bronx public housing building, gunman at large

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is investigating the shooting death of a man in the hallway of a public housing building in the Bronx Thursday night, authorities said.

Just after 8 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an unconscious man inside of the Baychester Houses located at 1851 Schieffelin Pl. in Edenwald.

Upon arrival to the third-floor hallway, officers observed a 41-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.

According to officials, the victim got into a dispute with the gunman who shot him once in the chest.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
