More warm weather and consistent rain chances ahead

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today will feature another round of above-average temperatures as highs reach the upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. An isolated shower will be possible during the PM hours.

We’ll begin Saturday near the 60-degree mark with another round of dense fog. The fog will clear out by mid-morning, with a mix of sun and clouds expected after that. High temperatures will be a bit cooler than previous days, but still well above average for early December in the low to mid 70s. Like today, an isolated shower or two will be possible.

Sunday will have a 40% chance for showers and a storm or two as a shortwave zips through the region. Expect to rise from the mid 50s into the low 70s for afternoon highs.

Monday and Tuesday will be dry outside of an isolated shower and feature a good bit of cloud cover. Temperatures around normal will continue as highs reach the low 70s both afternoons and lows fall to the 50s both nights.

Wednesday will have a 60% chance for showers and storms, the majority of which will come later in the day with our next cold front. Early indications suggest that some of the storms could be on the strong to possibly severe side, so stay tuned for further updates as we get closer! We’ll reach the low 70s again after beginning the morning in the mid 50s.

Thursday keeps a 40% chance of rain and maybe a storm or two around early before the front exits. We’ll likely reach our high temperature of 67 in the morning before we cool down post-front throughout the day.
