PONTIAC (WWJ) – After leaving home and not contacting her family for six days, a 15-year-old Pontiac girl is now back home.

Karen Rodriguez left her home Saturday, Dec. 3 and didn’t tell her family where she was going, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

The teen sent a text to her father later that day and said she would be home the next day, but she never returned.

Rodriguez had no history of running away and her family told sheriff's office investigators that doing so would be “out of character.”

Authorities released her photo Thursday in hopes the public would help bring her home.

Instead, police say Rodriguez saw the missing persons report and returned home on Friday.

No further details are available at this time.
