Multnomah County is now officially recognizing one of the victims of the "jogger rapist" as a victim.
Richard Gillmore admitted to raping Danielle Tudor decades ago, but he was never convicted in the case because the statute of limitations expired.
The county now says it has proper documentation to consider her a victim in the case.
Gillmore is set to be released on parole in Multnomah County on December 16.
Tudor says being recognized as a victim gives her the ability to know where he'll be living and to receive notification on his parole status. She says it also gives her funding to install security cameras at her home out of state.
The county's department of corrections says Gillmore will live in subsidized housing in northwest Portland, which is staffed by the county five days a week.
“Any victim or survivor connected to someone on DCJ supervision can work with an advocate, who can support them in a myriad of ways including but not limited to system navigation, emotional support, safety planning, trauma education, court accompaniment, sharing case information, access to community resources and referrals,” a county spokesperson said.
