DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan Police Department has arrested a man wanted for shooting and injuring his roommate.

On Thursday, December 8, Officers responded to the Southeast Health Emergency Room where a victim showed up needing treatment after a firearm assault.

It was determined the incident happened in the 600 Block of East Newton Street inside a home where several individuals live together.

According to DPD, the victim was involved in a physical altercation with one of the roommates that lived there and during that time another roommate, Robert Henry Humboles, 54, of Dothan, used a handgun and fired one round into the upper torso of the victim.

The victim’s injury is non-life-threatening.

Police say Humboles fled the scene and a Be-On-The-Lookout-Alert was put out. He was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Thursday and was charged with one count of attempt to commit murder.

According to jail records, he was released Friday morning.

One of the roommates, Darlene Nicole Redd, 41, of Dothan, told officers various things that took place and gave false information to divert attention away from Humboles.

Redd was charged with one count of first-degree hindering prosecution. Her bond is set at $15,000.
