Police said she was found safe after being kidnapped from a food mart in Jonesboro.

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — An 86-year-old Clayton County woman with dementia has been safely found after she was kidnapped following a carjacking in Jonesboro Thursday afternoon, police said.

Just before 3:30 p.m., Clayton County Police responded to the 7882 North Main Street -- the site of Lucky Food Mart -- to a call of a stolen vehicle where Shirley Jenkins McCurry was still inside the car when the vehicle was stolen, authorities said.

Police said she was found safe along Howell Mill Road in Atlanta.

The car was last seen on surveillance cameras at 4:29 p.m. near Marietta Street and Means Street in Atlanta.

Police have released the following image of the suspect via a storefront's surveillance camera. It is unclear at this time whether the man is still wanted in the investigation. 11Alive is working to learn more, however police said the vehicle is still missing.
