What is it like to be the mother of a college football star and Heisman hopeful?
Kim Stroud always believed her son was special. She went one-on-one with The Football Fever's Kellyanne Stitts giving insight into who C.J. is not just as a player, but as a person and breaking down his hopes for the future and her hopes for the college football playoff.
Stroud is a Heisman finalist for the second straight season.
Stroud, a native of Inland Empire, Calif., finished the regular season with a 66% completion percentage, 3,340 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
He has the nation’s highest passer rating and is tied for the lead with 37 touchdown passes.
Stroud has also been named a finalist for the Manning Award, the Walter Camp Award, the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award, and the Maxwell Award. He was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year following the conclusion of the regular season.
Stroud is looking to become the eighth player from Ohio State to win the Heisman. Smith won in 2006, Eddie George won in 1995, Archie Griffin won in 1974 and 1975 and is still the only two-time winner, Howard Cassady won in 1955, Vic Janowicz won in 1950, and Les Horvath won in 1944.
