Sonoma State University is getting a four-million-dollar donation to support education and the arts. The cash is being donated by the trust of Melody Ann Palmer, a musician and philanthropist from the North Bay who died in October of last year. Palmer didn’t have a direct connection with SSU and had never donated to the university in the past. The money will be shared evenly by the SSU School of Education and Center for Performing Arts, which is what Palmer’s trust has asked for.
