FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Authorities are looking for a 38-year-old man accused of attempted murder after a shooting Thursday morning near Olanta in Florence County, authorities said.

One person suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and a cut in the incident, according to Major Michael Nunn of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason Bryce Floyd of Olanta is also facing a charge of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, Nunn said. He is about 5-foot-7 and weighs about 165 pounds. He has short red hair and tattoos on his neck.

The shooting happened in the area of Karl Floyd Road east of Olanta, Nunn said. When deputies arrived, witnesses told them that they thought Floyd was still inside the residence.

That led deputies to set up a perimeter around the property and call for the department’s SWAT team, according to Nunn. SWAT officers then entered the home but found no one there.

Anyone with information is asked to call 843-665-2121, extension 469 or to submit a tip on the sheriff’s office’s free app for iPhone or Android devices. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers of the Pee Dee at www.peedeeswanted.com or by calling 888-CRIME-SC.
