Gov. Tom Wolf and first lady Frances Wolf invite the public to join them on Sunday for a holiday open house at the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg.

The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. and is held in conjunction with the Historic Harrisburg Association’s Annual Candlelight House Tour.

“The holiday season is such a wonderful time of year to visit the Governor’s Residence,” the first lady said. “Tom and I are thrilled to welcome everyone for an afternoon of breathtaking decorations, cheerful entertainment, and delicious holiday treats.”

This is the first time the Governor’s Residence has been decorated and opened for visitors to see it in its seasonal splendor following a two year pause on holiday tours due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The schedule of entertainment for the open house provided by all volunteers is as follows:

In the State Dining Room:

  • 1:30 PM – Camp Hill United Methodist Bell Choir, Cumberland County
  • 2:30 PM – Pianist Karl Hausman, Berks County
  • 3:30 PM – Susquehanna Flute Quartet, York County
  • 4:30 PM - Allegro Trio

In the Grand Hall Steps/Reception Room:

  • 1:30 PM – Mechanicsburg Area Wildcat Singers, Cumberland County
  • 2:30 PM – Pittsburgh Youth Orchestra, Allegheny County
  • 3:30 PM – State College Area High School Treble Makers and Chamber Singers, Centre County
  • 4:30 PM – Pianist Karl Hausman, Berks County

The residence, at 2035 North Front St., also will be open for self-guided tours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Dec. 19-23.

Registration is not required. The holiday tours are free and open to the public. Check the Governor’s Residence online for more information.
