On Wednesday, December 7 just before 9:00 a.m., two motorists in an Acura and Nissan were involved in a road rage incident on Foothill Drive near Bonair Road in Vista. The Acura pulled up beside the Nissan and shot out the Nissan’s side windows with a pellet gun. The two passengers in the Nissan were not hit by the pellets.
The confrontation continued at a high rate of speed and the Acura crashed into a Scion and a Chevy truck stopped at the intersection of Foothill Drive and Vale Terrace Drive.
The Acura burst into flames as a result of the collision. As deputies from the Vista Sheriff’s Station arrived on the scene, they contacted the driver, Juan Estrada (DOB 12/20/2001), and passenger, Julian Olea (DOB 04/03/2003). The Vista Fire Department arrived on scene and put out the flames.
Vista Firefighters began to empty out the trunk of the Acura as they believed they were removing personal property for the occupants of the vehicle. That’s when deputies noticed the trash bags of property being removed from the burning vehicle contained large quantities of illicit drugs and marijuana.
The driver of the Scion was transported to the hospital with complaint of pain. There were no serious injuries.
Estrada and Olea were arrested by deputies on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon and drug sales. They were booked into the Vista Detention Facility without further incident.

Asalto Con Un Arma Mortal – Vista
Incidente de ira en la carretera conduce a dos arrestos.
El miércoles 7 de diciembre, justo antes de las 9:00 a. m., dos automovilistas en un Acura y un Nissan se vieron involucrados en un incidente de ira en la carretera en Foothill Drive cerca de Bonair Road en Vista. El Acura se detuvo al lado del Nissan y disparó las ventanas laterales del Nissan con una pistola de perdigones. Los dos pasajeros del Nissan no fueron heridos por los perdigones.
La confrontación continuó a gran velocidad y el Acura chocó contra un Scion y un camión Chevy detenidos en la intersección de Foothill Drive y Vale Terrace Drive.
El Acura estalló en llamas como resultado de la colisión. Cuando los oficiales del Vista Sheriff’s Station llegaron a la escena, se comunicaron con el conductor, Juan Estrada (fecha de nacimiento 12/20/2001), y el pasajero, Julián Olea (fecha de nacimiento 04/03/2003). El Departamento de Bomberos de Vista llegó a la escena y apagó las llamas.
Los Bomberos de Vista comenzaron a vaciar la cajuela del Acura porque creÃan que estaban sacando propiedad personal de los ocupantes del vehÃculo. Fue entonces cuando los oficiales del Alguacil notaron que las bolsas de basura de propiedad que se retiraban del vehÃculo en llamas contenÃan grandes cantidades de drogas ilÃcitas y marihuana.
El conductor del Scion fue trasladado al hospital con queja de dolor. No hubo heridos graves.
Estrada y Olea fueron arrestados por delitos graves de asalto con un arma mortal y venta de drogas. Fueron ingresados en el Centro de Detención de Vista sin más incidentes.
