William T. “Bill” Young, 80, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at Franciscan Health Lafayette.
He was born July 18, 1942, to the late John S. and Mary Eileen (Boots) Young.
He graduated from New Market High School in 1960. He attended Indiana State University and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He married Cheryl Jane Miller on Aug. 22, 1970. She preceded him in death Jan. 5, 2017.
He worked at Pizza Hut for several years until his retirement. During his time there, his store won several awards, including being third in the nation. He enjoyed being a clown going to company picnics conventions and volunteering at hospitals. He was inducted into the Clown Hall of Fame. He loved spoiling his Yorkie Pyper.
He is survived by daughter Tracie Young; son Ed (Melissa) Young; two grandchildren, Bethany and Jonathon Young; two brothers, Steve Young and James “Bob” Young; and a special friend Judy Connor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Rachel J. Rankey.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. There will be a private family funeral service on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Burial will follow at a later date.
