The Dallas Mavericks are in the midst of a three-game winning streak and have had some pretty convincing and impressive victories over the last week.

Not only did they just beat the Denver Nuggets, but they also decimated the Phoenix Suns and took down the New York Knicks by 21 points too.

As expected, Luka Doncic was a huge part of each of those wins, scoring 22, 33, and 30 points.

This comes as Doncic is having perhaps his best season yet and is firmly in the running for his first, well-deserved MVP trophy at the end of the season.

But can the Slovenian wonder keep it up for the entire season?

Head coach Jason Kidd got real about that happening.

Speaking to the press, he talked about the challenges of Doncic being a tough, A-plus competitor all year long:

“For 82 games, it’s no way that he can play at this level, the usage is just way too high. No one can. You know, the things that we ask him to do on the offensive end and then asked him to defend on the other end. It’s a lot.”

Well, that is certainly discouring for fans of the Mavericks, who are praying that Doncic can keep being the superhero he is for the whole season.

If Kidd knows that Doncic can’t always be this good, what is he going to do to help the star player?

Luka Needing Help

Doncic has always needed more assistance with the Mavs.

Ever since joining the team, fans have been crying out for the front office to do something to give him assistance and not put so much on his shoulder.

He definitely has more help lately, with guys such as Christian Wood, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Dorian Finney-Smith putting in hard work.

Now, Kidd needs to be careful to monitor and rest Doncic a lot.

Otherwise he – and the team – won’t be able to reach the playoffs.
