We asked the BuzzFeed Community which popular songs from 2022 were waaayyyyy too overplayed. Here's what they said:

Note: Not every song on this list was released this year, but every song was made popular in 2022!

1. "As It Was" by Harry Styles

"Don't get me wrong, I love Harry Styles, and 'As It Was' is a good song, but it's been played so much that it's gotten very old."

"I want to rip my ears out every time I hear it."

"I love it but got so sick of it! The message, lyrics, and music are great but not 50 times a day! I wish it hadn't been ruined for me."

2. "Abcdefu" by Gayle

"I hated it from the first listen. It’s just somehow angrily singing the ABC's but she added a bad word."

"I hate it! It played every single day on the radio!"

Atlantic /

3. "The Loneliest Time" by Carly Rae Jepsen (feat. Rufus Wainwright)

"The song is perfectly okay, but the snippet from the song that is EVERYWHERE on TikTok really bugs me. It's a complete departure from the rest of the song! You hear that part, you like it, you listen to the whole song, and then, you realize you kinda got false advertisement."

Schoolboy / Interscope

4. "Anti-Hero" by Taylor Swift

"It was okay when I first heard it, but now, I'm so sick of it. It wasn’t even released that long ago, but it feels like every time I change the radio station, 'Anti-Hero' comes on."

Republic /

5. "Y'all Life" by Walker Hayes

"I like the song, and I can jam to it if I'm in the mood, but if it comes on the radio, I'm skipping it."

Capitol /

6. "Made You Look" by Meghan Trainor

"It’s an okay song, but it's horribly overplayed."

Epic /

7. "About Damn Time" by Lizzo

"Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Lizzo. But for about three weeks straight, every single time I got in my car — regardless of what time it was — that song was playing. I loved it at first and thought it was a cute, fun song, but after hearing it nearly every day for almost a month, I grew so sick of it 😩."

Nice Life / Atlantic /

8. "Light Switch" by Charlie Puth

"'Light Switch' by Charlie Puth needs to be switched off. I respect Charlie Puth, and he is talented, but that song annoys me to no end. The melody and the Auto-Tune sound — particularly in the chorus — are painful for me to listen to."

Atlantic /

9. "Calm Down" by Rema and Selena Gomez

"It's a total earworm. I loved it and had it on repeat, but that only lasted a while before I needed a break. I'm still hearing it everywhere, though. I live close to a nightclub, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they've been playing it for months about five nights a week, multiple times a night. I'm so tired."

10. "Ooga Booga!" by Ski Mask the Slump God

"Maybe it's because I'm a middle school teacher, but I can’t stand the 'I’m the boogeyman, oooga booga' song. My students are constantly saying it…over and over and over and over…"

11. "Betty (Get Money)" by Yung Gravy

"That one song by Yung Gravy that sounds like a certain Rick Astley song is just awful."

Republic /

12. "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto

"I got so sick of hearing 'We Don't Talk About Bruno.' It ruined Encanto for me. It played at work all day, and when you work 13-hour shifts, you start to hate some songs."

Disney /

13. "First Class" by Jack Harlow

"That song will forever haunt me."

"It didn’t add anything to the Fergie sample."

Atlantic /

14. "Hold Me Closer" by Elton John and Britney Spears

"I love Britney and Elton, but for some reason, his singing “hold me closer tiny dancer” over and over without following it with “count the headlights on the highway” feels incomplete. Yes, I know the concept of a remix; maybe I’m just too attached to the original song."

Listen to the full song here:

15. "I'm Good (Blue)" by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha

"I’ve heard this song on repeat so often at work, on TV, and in ads. It gives me such a headache! As much as I try to encourage positivity, that stupid, overly positive cover of 'Blue' by Eiffel 65 is an ear worm and ruining my goddamn childhood! It’s so overplayed!"

"I hear it whenever I walk in ANY mall, and it desperately needs to stop."

Warner UK /

16. "Bad Habit" by Steve Lacy

"That song is intolerable."

17. "Victoria's Secret" by Jax

"It irks me to no end."

"'Victoria’s Secret' is the song that makes me race to change the station as fast as I can."

Atlantic /

18. And finally, "Unholy" by Sam Smith and Kim Petras

"Unpopular opinion, but I HATE 'Unholy.' It’s so overplayed, and Sam Smith’s crooning, breathy voice really took me out of what was going to be a certified bop. Also, the production didn’t really fit their style."

"If I hear it one more time, I may actually puke. It's just so cringey calling someone Mommy and Daddy in a sexy way."

"I absolutely hate 'Unholy' to the point I flinch when I hear it. It's played everywhere."

"It was a good bop at first, but then, the more I heard it, the more I got annoyed with Sam Smith's nasally 'Mommy don't know' line sounding more like 'Bobby Dob Dob,' and now that's all I can hear."
