MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- 60 students at St. Catherine's Catholic Elementary School went on a $200 shopping spree thanks to Marquette.

"Most people evaluate what we do on the court in terms of wins and losses, and obviously that's very meaningful to us, but make no mistake about it out guys are whole people, not just basketball players," said Marquette head coach Shaka Smart. "Any time we get a chance to spread some cheer, whether it's the holidays or not, we want to participate in."

Shaka Smart brought "Shopping with the Golden Eagles" last year. Now, six Marquette teams help kids pick put presents for themselves and their families.

"The most fun part is getting your family something and that's very sweet of you," said Wilson.

David Joplin and Gio found all the right toys. Joplin is a homegrown Golden Eagle from Brookfield Central, thrilled to give back.

"He's just hilarious, he's so excited to be here, he's just grabbing everything he sees and handing it to me," said David Joplin. "I'm trying to help him choose which one do you really want. A lot of kids might not get anything for Christmas, so it's good to come out here and try to help these kids have some happiness at the holidays."

Gio and the rest of the students walked away with $200 worth of goodies, and more importantly, a day they will never forget.
