LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) – Two men were officially charged with illegally possessing machine guns.

According to the Department of Justice in western Kentucky, Clayton Hodges and Timothy Martin, both 22, each possessed a Glock switch with no serial number.

Hodges, who was convicted of a felony in 2019, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A Glock switch is a device that allows a semi-automatic, like a handgun, to operate like an automatic weapon. Therefore, federal law considers Glock switches to be machine guns.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Martin and Hodges are currently in state custody awaiting transport into federal custody.

Martin faces a maximum sentence of 10 years while Hodges faces a 20-year maximum sentence.
