SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — As crimes in Syracuse appear to be on the rise, we’re taking a look at some of the most frequent crimes appearing this week.

$2,700 stolen from Syracuse Indoor Sports Center

New York State Police BCI in North Syracuse is putting NewsChannel 9 viewers ‘On the Lookout’ for the following suspect who was involved with burglary and theft in Liverpool.

On October 25, the suspect stole approximately $2,700 in cash from the Syracuse Indoor Sports Center, located at 4989 Hopkins Road, in Liverpool.

The suspect entered through the front window after breaking it with a hammer and then ran off west on Hopkins Rd after stealing the money.

If anyone recognizes the individual in the photo, they are asked to contact State Police at (315)-366-6000.

Breaking and entering at Camillus Vape Shop

The Camillus Police are looking for a suspect who broke into Camillus Vapes, on West Genesee Street.

On November 11, at approximately 12:24 a.m. the suspect is seen (above) breaking into Camillus Vapes.

Although you can’t make out his face, you can read his shirt. It says, “Please be nice to me, it’s the law.”

If anyone has any information or can identify the person in the pictures, please call our detectives direct phone number 315-487-6425 and ask for Detective Gucciardi.

Camillus Vapes is located at located at 3512 West Genesee Street.

Additionally: Westhill welcomes new resource officers

Westhill School District is welcoming new school resources officers made up of all retired police officers.

The SRO Initiative was led by Westhill schools superintendent Stephen Dunham, who has partnered with Geddes Police to promote school and community safety.

NewsChannel 9 has heard that the students have been high-fiving the officers all week!
