12-7 Poulin PIT leave of absence

Sam Poulin is taking a leave of absence from the Pittsburgh Penguins for personal reasons.

The 21-year-old forward prospect will return home to Quebec and continue his workouts on and off the ice.
"The Penguins support Sam's decision to take time away from hockey to focus on himself," general manager Ron Hextall said. "As with all of our players, our priority is them as individuals first. We look forward to having him back with the team when he is ready."
Poulin was chosen in the first round (No. 21) of the 2019 NHL Draft. He's played three games this season with the Penguins and had an assist in his NHL debut against the Calgary Flames on Oct. 25. He has four goals in 13 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.
