Nurse Reinstated After Being Fired for Eating Toast on the Job

What would you do if you were a male who needed to use the restroom in the shop but had taken your daughter, who was four years old, along with you?. The young child could be in danger if left unattended outside the men's restroom, but bringing her inside would provide its own set of issues. Instead, taking the young girl into the ladies' room might be even more unpleasant and divisive.

Texas veterinarian Dr. Tannetje Crocker went on TikTok to explain why she received a complaint from the Texas Veterinary Medical Board. She wasn’t in trouble for administering poor-quality care or harming a pet. “I got sent to the Texas veterinary medical board because I work at a hospital that calls some veterinary technicians ‘veterinary nurses,’” she said in the clip. The video put her at the center of fierce debate as to whether veterinarian technicians can call themselves nurses.

Nurses all over the country are being pushed to the limit. There were 385 nursing strikes in 2022 alone, a 42% increase from the year before. Nurses are striking over unsafe working conditions, low pay, and other administrative issues that make it harder for nurses to do their jobs. Nursing unions are doing their best to negotiate with hospital management to resolve the crisis but there just aren’t enough nurses to go around.

Numerous reports have shared stores of nurses in the U.K. waiting in line at food banks because they don’t earn enough money to make ends meet. The country is facing record-high inflation and many nurses have said they are struggling to pay their bills. The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) went on strike late last year to demand higher pay with two more strikes planned in February.
